The Extreme Denim Type II jacket represents the pinnacle of Japanese denim craftsmanship, a perfect addition to Studio D’Artisan's latest capsule. Retaining the iconic Type II design, this jacket is infused with a bold personality thanks to its use of Extreme Denim, one of the most impressive fabrics we’ve seen recently at Redcast.
Made with 16oz Extreme Denim, the fabric showcases a remarkable irregularity and heavy texture, achieved through a blend of slub and nep yarns meticulously combined during the weaving process. The kasezome-dyed indigo warp threads harmonize with super-slub wefts, creating a rich, rugged fabric that tells a story of dedication and precision. The weight and pronounced slub character embody the quintessential Japanese approach to denim innovation.
True to the Type II aesthetic, the jacket features distinctive box pleats, dual front pockets, and waist adjusters. Original embossed metal buttons and engraved copper rivets add a touch of heritage craftsmanship, making this piece both authentic and contemporary. A harmonious blend of tradition and innovation, the Extreme Denim Type II jacket is a testament to Studio D’Artisan’s ongoing quest to elevate denim.
Fit Notes: Despite being a Japanese jacket, we find the sizing of this Type II to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
