Inspired by traditional Kabuki theater curtain patterns, master craftsman Oishi-san has created an unprecedented jacquard-like selvedge denim with a subtle geometric, almost honeycomb pattern. This 17oz fabric, used to craft a heavyweight coverall, combines ultra-slubby yarns with low-tension weaving, resulting in a unique texture that promises extraordinary fading potential. The distinctive purple and gold selvedge ticker pays homage to traditional Japanese theater colors, while copper hardware adds refined detail.
Oishi-san is well known for interpreting American workwear staples through his Japanese dystopic lens, and this coverall is no exception. More of a character actor than a leading man, this will be the most reliable jacket in your arsenal. Designed for work—with durable construction and plenty of pockets—it’s understated yet versatile, adding depth to everything from a hoodie to a tee. The silhouette strikes a perfect balance: not too slim, not too roomy, making it easy to wear regardless of style. Thoughtfully constructed, it features both an inner and outer breast pocket, two handwarmer pockets at the waist, and a chest pocket on the left side, complemented by an additional inner pocket on the right for practicality and style.
Fit Notes: The Kasuri jeans shrank significantly during the one-wash process and run small, but the jackets did not shrink as much. We recommend choosing your usual size. However, as always, we recommend checking the size chart first to find your perfect fit. Although it is unsanforized, the fabric has been one-washed, so there will be no further shrinkage.
