The new WWII capsule brings the iconic “war models” back to life, preserving their authentic details and rugged character. Inspired by rare deadstock and vintage pieces from the wartime era, each jacket embodies the spirit of its predecessor. Crafted from 13.7oz selvedge denim made with 100% handpicked long-staple Zimbabwe brown cotton, this jacket offers a unique texture and distinct fading from Fullcount’s usual lineup.

Authentic period features include one-star donut buttons and uncoated iron rivets. Reflecting wartime production, the stitching is rough and uneven, with misaligned seams and unfinished allowances that you can either trim or leave intact, just as was done during the war. From its aged indigo hues to the weathered patina on the hardware, every detail celebrates the craftsmanship and resilience of 1940s production, a time when labor was scarce, and materials were constantly rationed—evident in the omission of the chest pocket flap.

The fit is exactly the same as the original: short and boxy. The back of the jacket features a cinch rather than the waist epaulets found in later models, and sizes 44 and 46 feature a T-back.

The jacket features intentional "rough stitching" to replicate the sewing imperfections of the original WWII model, adding an authentic vintage touch. Loose threads, part of the design, can be left as is for a rugged look or trimmed to suit personal preference.

Fit Notes: Despite being a Japanese jacket, we find the sizing of this Type II to be more Western than Japanese. If you usually wear a size M in American jackets, you'll find a suitable fit with this jacket in size 40 (M). However, as always, we recommend consulting our size chart for the perfect fit. It is unsanforized but one washed, so there will be no shrinkage.
